What is a traceroute?

Traceroute is a command that tests the connection from your computer to the specified target location and every hop (transfer through a network) in between. It will list all the routers it passes through until it reaches its destination.

If you're having difficulty accessing a Harvard Business Publishing online course, you may be asked by HBP Customer Service Technical Support to perform a traceroute for troubleshooting purposes.

What is the browser cache?

The browser cache is a folder on your computer where your browser stores images, pages and files of web sites that you have visited, so the next time you visit the web site the browser does not have to get that image or file from the internet server, resulting in a faster web browsing experience. Sometimes these files out of date, which can cause problems with the proper functioning of web applications. It is completly safe to clear your browser cache at any point.
